On Saturday, May 14, 2005 the Shock Trauma Gala was held at the Baltimore Convention Center. That evening honored 91 men and women who helped rescue and recover two severely injured Shock Trauma patients during 2004.

Obesity is an epidemic in this country. It kills more people than AIDS, breast, lung and prostate cancer combined. In a call to action, the University of Maryland Medical Center, the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Merritt Athletic Clubs are launching the Get Fit Maryland: 10,000 Steps a Day program this spring.
