Thank you to everyone who joined us for the third annual “Crush’s Homers for Hearts” Home Run Derby, hosted by Chris and Jill Davis, and the Baltimore Orioles, to benefit the Children’s Heart Program at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital!
Photos from the event will be posted on the UMMS Foundation Facebook page.
“Crush’s Homers for Hearts” Home Run Derby is a charity event hosted in partnership with Orioles first baseman Chris Davis and his wife, Jill, and the Baltimore Orioles.
Jill and Chris Davis serve as ambassadors for the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital (UMCH). Partnering with UMCH experts and dedicated staff, the Davises raise public awareness of childhood illnesses and disease research. They regularly visit children in the hospital to provide moral support and to see how family-centered care at UMCH is helping children to live healthier and happier lives.
Home Run Derby participants will experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play baseball on the field of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which includes a warm-up on the field with the Orioles Strength & Conditioning coach, complimentary food and beverages, and pictures with Jill and Chris Davis. How it works – Home Run Derby Format and Rules.
“The honor to enter the O's locker room, the surprise of a full bar awaiting us, the excitement to hit from home plate in the world's greatest baseball stadium while Chris Davis watches and coaches is a simply unforgettable experience. The picture of our team, Chris and his wife hangs in my house and is always a fun piece of memorabilia for guests.” - 2017 Derby participant
Additionally, the Davis family will host patients from the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital for a T-ball challenge.
