The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Gala is an evening like no other and one we look forward to all year. The theme of this year's Gala, "Answering the Call," highlighted the unique, nimble network of individuals who make up Maryland's model Emergency Medical Services system -- first responders, police, firefighters, medical personnel -- who support our community and serve others despite great personal risk. Our annual gala is an opportunity to publicly honor these extraordinary men and women and, while we did not gather on April 25th, their heroism cannot and will not be diminished.

Our mission at Shock Trauma is to always be there when our community needs us. In light of the events that unfolded on the night of the Gala and thereafter, it is abundantly clear that postponement was the right decision. While the Gala will not be rescheduled in 2015, we invite you to save the date for next year’s Gala on April 16, 2016.

Thank you for your understanding and unwavering support for the Shock Trauma Center.

As always, if we are needed, the heroes of Shock Trauma will be there to "Answer the Call."
