The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is proud to participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving held every year on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
On this year’s #GivingTuesdayUMMC on December 3, help us reach our goal of $5,000 to purchase essential medical equipment for the Nursing Simulation Lab at Edmondson-Westside High School in West Baltimore.
At UMMC, we believe it takes bold vision and unwavering commitment to make a real difference in our community — and we are up to the challenge. As the nearest hospital for many residents of West Baltimore, we see the impact of joblessness and poverty in the community.
In 2018, we partnered with Edmondson-Westside High School to renovate their Nursing Simulation Lab, a critical component of the school’s nursing program. The program offers students an opportunity to learn about the nursing field and practice on state-of-the-art simulation equipment, as well as actual equipment they would use in a medical setting. Through hands-on learning, the course aims to inspire students to pursue a career in the health care industry and break out of the cycle of unemployment and poverty.
With your gift, we will purchase two GT-900 Vital Signs Monitors with NIBP and SPo2 — a key piece of equipment that is prevalent in any medical setting. Any additional funds raised will go toward the continued maintenance of the lab.
Be a part of something greater on this #GivingTuesdayUMMC and help us raise $5,000 to support the Edmondson-Westside High School Nursing Simulation Lab.
Your gift will make an impact.
If there is a different program, fund or initiative at UMMC that has more importance to you, we invite you to make a gift to that priority on this #GivingTuesdayUMMC — because this is a day about giving back in a way that is most meaningful for YOU.
