Children’s Cancer Foundation Grants Wishes for Pediatric Cancer Patients

Magic CastleThrough a generous grant, The Children’s Cancer Foundation Inc., (CCF) expanded their partnership with UMGCCC and brought the beloved Magic Castle program to the new Maryland Proton Treatment Center.

magic wandThe Magic Castle has long been a joyful symbol of hope for pediatric cancer patients during their course of radiation therapy at UMGCCC. Children are invited to write three wishes on a slip of paper and place them inside the castle on the first day of their treatment. On the final day of treatment, the children’s wishes are granted during a special celebration with family members and staff.

Thanks to CCF, every pediatric cancer patient is able to experience the joy of this whimsical diversion. “Our Board of Directors unanimously agreed that the Magic Castle is a truly worthy project,” says Tasha Museles, CCF’s Executive Director. “It makes us all feel wonderful to give a little piece of magic to these special patients.”
