powered by the Baltimore Pacemakers and Jeff Galloway Intervals Pace Groups
What are your goals for running the Maryland Half Marathon?
Aiming for a particular time? Trying to achieve a personal best?
Want to benefit from the experience of a veteran runner?
Each group will be led by one or more experienced members of the Baltimore Pacemakers running group. Just meet up with the group of your choice at the starting line and you'll have someone to guide and encourage you to achieve your goal.
How Our Pace Groups Work
Pace groups will be organized to finish in the following times:
This year we will also have pacers using the Jeff Galloway Intervals. Galloway Program Directors and/or Group leaders who spend much of the year training runners to achieve their personal goals will be doing some of the GALLOWAY pacing. All of our pacers are experienced half marathoners with Personal Records quite a bit faster than the times they will be pacing.
All of the official Galloway pacers for The Maryland Half Marathon will carry a flag bearing the goal time and times for each mile. They also will be using Jeff Galloway’s recommended run/walk/run method and will take walk breaks according to Jeff’s personal instructions.
All of the Galloway pacers at The Maryland Half Marathon will be staying on pace for their projected finish times throughout the run. If you are following a different run/walk plan than the pacer with your time goal, just keep the pacer in sight and stick to your plan. If you find yourself faltering late in the race, tuck in with the pace group and let the energy of the pack carry you to the finish.
