Welcome to my Maryland Half Marathon & 5K Page!
I am participating in the 2020 Maryland Half Marathon & 5K to raise money for the fight against cancer. 100% of every dollar I raise goes directly to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC).
Since 2009, participants like me have raised more than $4 million to support UMGCCC’s cutting-edge care and groundbreaking research. And this year, we’re going for a new fundraising best.
As a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, UMGCCC ranks among the top cancer centers in the country. They combine compassionate care with the most advanced treatment options available. I hope you’ll consider making a donation to fund their amazing work. Your support helps provide lifesaving treatment to UMGCCC patients and funds research that benefits cancer patients everywhere.
I want to help in the fight against cancer. Cancer (kidney cancer) took both my father (in 2007) and my husband (in 2019). I started training in the beginning of 2020 to run longer distances for my own well-being and thought that I could use my efforts to also contribute to helping others with cancer and their families with this race. My goal is to raise $500 through your generous gifts for the cause. Because of the COVID19 crisis, the race is now virtual but my running will be real. I've never run this far, but knowing that you are out there supporting my efforts will help me make it through.
Please consider making a contribution today. Together, we can move the fight against cancer forward! Thank you!
