Welcome to my Maryland Half Marathon Page!
I am participating in the 2020 Maryland Half Marathon to raise money for the fight against cancer. 100% of every dollar I raise goes directly to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC).
As many of you may know, this is a very personal cause for me. My family and I lost my father, Jim Fragetta, in 2019 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. My dad was a superhero, and lived for everyone around him. He made every second of my 21 years with him extraordinary.
Today I am grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside many healthcare heroes, as a clinical research data manager in the Solid Tumor Department at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. I consider the doctors, nurses, and patients heroes every day, but I think they are extraordinary rock stars during this current crisis.
Since 2009, race participants have raised more than $4 million to support UMGCCC’s cutting-edge care and groundbreaking research. And this year, we’re going for a new fundraising best.
As a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, UMGCCC ranks among the top cancer centers in the country. They combine compassionate care with the most advanced treatment options available. I hope you’ll consider making a donation to fund their amazing work. Your support helps provide lifesaving treatment to UMGCCC patients and funds research that benefits cancer patients everywhere.
Please consider making a contribution today. Together, we can move the fight against cancer forward!
