Welcome to my Maryland Half Marathon & 5K Page!

I am participating in the 2023 Maryland Half Marathon & 5K to raise money for the fight against cancer. 100% of every dollar I raise goes directly to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC). 

I am running in honor of my parents, Clifford and Alda Powell, both of whom battled cancers. While neither were treated at UMGCCC, I believe in its mission and the help that it provides to not only my patients, but countless others across the state of Maryland. 

As a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, UMGCCC ranks among the top cancer centers in the country.
