The health and safety of our runners, volunteers, patients, staff, and spectators continues to be of the utmost importance as we all manage the COVID-19 crisis. Just like last year, you can run or walk in your own neighborhood or community in honor or memory of someone in your life who has faced cancer.
A virtual race can be ran or walked in your own neighborhood or community or even indoors on a treadmill. Simply register for the Maryland Half Marathon or Maryland 5K, run or walk the complete distance anytime Saturday, June 11 - Monday, June 13, and submit your information to our website by Wednesday, June 15 at 11:59 PM. The results will be posted by Friday, June 17 at 5:00 PM.
Please follow CDC guidelines and practice safe social distancing as you train for and participate in the virtual race. We recommend running or walking alone, from your own front door, and maintaining the mandated six feet distance from anyone else outside. We do not recommend running in groups or on the traditional Maryland Half Marathon or Maryland 5K course and are not responsible for any legal ramifications for violation of state laws. The start of the virtual race will take place on May 8th but we appreciate your understanding as we adhere to CDC guidelines should this date need to change. No matter what, we will host a virtual race this year and continue to share updates with you, and look forward to resuming with our traditional race format in 2023.
