Welcome to the Maryland 5K Team Page for Chips off the Old Block!
We are participating in the VIRTUAL 2021 Maryland 5K to raise money for the fight against cancer in honor of Chip Baldwin, a now 3 year survivor of lymphoma thanks to UMMS. Chip was only the second person ever to receive CAR-T therapy from UMMS and it saved his life. Since 2018, the Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center has treated almost 150 patients and more than 80% of them are alive still, most of them cured.
100% of every dollar we raise goes directly to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC). Since 2009, participants like us have raised more than $4 million to support UMGCCC’s cutting-edge care and groundbreaking research. And this year, we’re going for a new fundraising best.
As a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, UMGCCC ranks among the top cancer centers in the country. They combine compassionate care with the most advanced treatment options available. We hope you’ll consider making a donation to fund their amazing work. Your support helps provide lifesaving treatment to UMGCCC patients and funds research that benefits cancer patients everywhere.
Make a contribution today. Together, we can move the fight against cancer forward!
